This Gingerbread Trifle was a favorite holiday dessert last year! It's unique, a guaranteed hit at parties, and can be made ahead of time. The recipe was inspired by liveloveandsugar on Pinterest.
1. In a large bowl beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
2. Add cinnamon, molasses, and milk. Mix until smooth.
3. Stir in 8 oz of cool whip.
4. In a large trifle dish, break up half the cookies for the bottom layer.
5. Top the cookies with half of the cream cheese mixture.
6. Top cream cheese mixture with half of the caramel sauce.
(Place gingerbread cookies around the edges for extra cuteness!)
7. Top caramel sauce with 6 oz cool whip.
8. Repeat steps!
9. Save back one cookie for garnish on top!
(Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving! It tasted amazing 3 days after, so it can be made ahead for any gathering!)
